The Founders

The story of LaTome began with love and a fateful collision of passions. The brand was first envisioned in Melbourne where founders Daria and Shawn first met as University students. The Siberian and Singaporean are not only partners in life but have brought their creative and business minds together to dream of a brand that seeks to inspire others to celebrate their steps forward.

Young & Inspired

Daria comes from Siberia where she grew up immersed in nature. As a child, a subscription to a children’s geology magazine that sent her small non-precious stones every month ignited a love for geology. Travelling and studying all around the world, she found a unique vision for design which she realized in art, fashion design and now, fine jewellery. Deeply rooted in his culture, Shawn grew up with a respect for gold and its importance as a form of security and family pride – heirlooms passed on for generations. From very different backgrounds, the duo channel their differences to guide a harmonious partnership.

With a strong passion for artistic creations and the mutual desire to create things of lasting value, they found their medium of creative expression in fine jewellery. Without any prior connections in the world of jewellery, they rely strongly on each other. Drawing inspiration from people and embracing the influence of nature, they envision a brand that is bold yet understated, luxurious yet approachable, contemporary yet timeless and a celebration of achievements.

An obsession with details

From the designs which are expertly created by Daria to the manufacturing meticulously overseen by Shawn, the duo leave no stone unturned. Every stone is carefully selected and all elements purposefully considered. Made to last forever, artisans and master craftsmen work on each jewellery in great detail to bring their vision to life.

Our Dream

As young individuals entering an intimidating space, we often caught ourselves experiencing imposter syndrome. We realised the importance of acknowledging and celebrating every step forward, no matter how small. This inspired us to want our brand to stand for your accomplishments as much as our own. Every piece of jewellery we create is our celebration of how far we’ve come. We want our jewellery to be your celebration and reminder of all the accomplishments, small or big, that you make every day.
