Only you and I in the field

A painting that features a guide in the form of a horse (a symbol of the year 2026), carrying a baby that embodies the shared beginnings we all carry inside. Set against a field where each strand represents life in its' complexity and interconnectedness.

I drew this painting to visualise destiny and how we are all just lost children being carried away in our own ways. It is also a love letter to the year 2026, where I wish it to be merciful and kind to all of us.

This was a very challenging painting for me. I could have made the horse look realistic but I realised in this way it will take away all the mysterious nature of its universal being. I also didn’t give it any "life" as it’s not a living thing and it must be apparent next to a living breathing baby.
